Hi, I'm Helen and welcome to Mid-Life Magick.
My corner of the internet to share a more positive story around menopause and ageing.
I find that society doesn’t have too many good things to say around women getting older. It’s all bad knees, dodgy hips, hot sweats, irrational moods, and a steady decline into a care home armchair.
Plenty of what you can't and shouldn’t do anymore, and not so much about how to still get the most out of life. Because news flash – we ain’t dead yet.
I'm not sure about you, but I can get a little ruffled under the collar when confronted by young males on the internet telling us what we should be doing, wearing, eating, and basically how we should be living now we are 'women of a certain age' (don't you just hate that phrase!)
With 20 plus years of experience working within the fitness arena and 58 years of being a female (who has gone through menopause) I think I've got a pretty good handle on what works for us.
The truth is, there is no secret, no pill to take, no specific workout or diet that will bring you back to the fountain of youth.
We need to embrace this season of our lives instead of constantly comparing ourselves to who we used to be.
Life moves in cycles, and the decades we are in now are not the same as the decades we have already past through. That's the joy of life, we evolve.
The key to staying fit and healthy into menopause and beyond, is simply to eat well (clean, wholefoods), keep you body moving (daily!) and maintaining a mindset that focuses on the positives and not the negatives.
Easy right, well yes, actually it is.
What I offer here at Mid-Life Magick are the tools to do this. Nothing complicated; no fads, gimmicks, or quick answers. A lifestyle overhaul for both our physical and mental selves. One that cuts out the constant comparison and competition that society wants women to have with each other.
